As freelance trainer based in the Western Slope of Colorado, I travel to your barn for training and clinics.
In-Person Lessons
Single Lesson — $120 Perfect for clinic visitors, occasional tune-ups, or trying a first lesson before committing to a package.
Starter Pack: 6 Lessons — $660 (save $60 — $110 per lesson) Ideal for a focused month of weekly training. Packages must be used within 4 months of purchase.
Commitment Pack: 10 Lessons — $1,050 (save $150 — that's essentially one free lesson!) Designed for dedicated students who are ready to make consistent, meaningful progress. Packages must be used within 4 months of purchase.
Travel & On-Site Lesson Policy
Down to Earth Dressage is based in Montrose, Colorado (November–May) and Durango, Colorado (June–October).
Local lessons within 15 miles of my home base are offered at no additional travel charge.
For clients located beyond 15 miles, a travel fee applies based on one-way mileage from my home base:
0–15 miles — No travel fee
16–30 miles — $10
31–45 miles — $20
46–60 miles — $30
61–75 miles — $40
76+ miles — Contact for a custom rate
Mileage is calculated one-way from my seasonal home base using Google Maps standard routing.
For travel of 40 miles or more, a minimum booking of 2 lessons per visit is required to make the trip worthwhile for both of us. These can be scheduled back-to-back or with different clients at the same facility.

With a focus on rider position, dressage and horsemanship, Laura works to:

Virtual Lessons
Have a lesson at your barn, in real-time wherever it may be, with a virtual lesson!
All you need is a video platform, such as FaceTime or Pivo, sufficient internet speed, and Bluetooth headphones to connect the call’s sound to your ears.
The cost of a 1 hour Virtual lesson with Laura is $95
Video Critique
Feeling a little stuck? Do you sometimes question what to work on? This is a quick and easy way for anyone who wants some guidance. I will provide evaluative commentary, useful tips, and helpful exercises to ensure that you and your horse are on the right track!
Send a video of up to 15 minutes in length. Include a brief paragraph describing what you'd like Laura to focus upon, whether it be a specific training issue or simply the process of improving your riding or relationship with your horse!
The cost for Laura's evaluation of your riding video is $75
Step 1. Pay for your virtual coaching
Please pay in advance through Paypal to Lauragillmer@icloud.com or Venmo @laura-gillmer before submitting any video links.
Step 2. Email Laura your riding video and a description of the area of focus.
Videos should up to 15 minutes in length. Laura will review your video and return a critique along with recommendations and suggested exercises.
Tips for Filming
Be careful to choose a filming location that has a minimum of background interference.
Make appropriate adjustments for lighting, whether filming indoor or outdoor.
